But the vanilla VirtualBox has quite a few annoyances like inability to run guest OSes in fullscreen, sharing clipboard, etc.
In the Window containing the running virtual machine, select Install Guest Additions from the Devices menu, as shown in Figure 6.11.

In the virtual machine, on the Windows Start menu, type run in the search field and press Return. The Run dialog is displayed. Enter D:VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe /with_autologon /with_vboxmmr in the Open field, as shown in Figure 6.13, and press the Return key. If you are preparing a Windows XP desktop template, you can omit the /with_vboxmmr command line switch.

When you are prompted, click Yes to install the Guest Additions. The VirtualBox Guest Additions Setup wizard is displayed in a new window, as shown in Figure 6.14.

Click the Next button to move though the various steps of the wizard. Accept all the default settings and then click Install to install the Guest Additions. If a Windows Security dialog is displayed that prompts you to install device software (see Figure 6.15 for an example), click Install.

When the Guest Additions installation is complete, ensure Reboot now is selected (see Figure 6.16) and click Finish.

The VirtualBox Guest Additions Setup wizard closes and the virtual machine is rebooted. When the virtual machine reboots, log in.
Next, you need perform some additional configuration in the virtual machine, as described in Section 6.5, “Additional Virtual Machine Preparation”.

How to Setup Windows Vista in Oracle VM on Windows 10
Installing Windows Vista with Oracle VM software, a virtualization program, is simple and easy.
With any virtualization program on your physical computer, you can run and use operating systems like Windows, Linux or Macintosh as a virtual computer. One of the most commonly used programs is Oracle VirtualBox.

VirtualBox software is a very flexible virtualization software and is also free. With Oracle VM VirtualBox, we have already installed Windows 10, 8.1 operating systems.
In this article, after creating a new machine using VBox, we will install the Win Vista ISO file by adding it to the machine. In addition, by installing the VM Guest Additions, we will enable the drag and drop feature between the Guest machine and the Host physical computer and be able to use VM as full screen.
NOTE: You can install Microsoft Windows Vista using the Oracle VM VBox 6.0.10 version by following the steps in this article.
How to Install Windows Vista in Virtual Machine
After installing VirtualBox on the Windows 10 operating system, install a new machine and then download the Win Vista ISO file from the bottom of the article to your computer.
Then, follow the steps to install Microsoft Win Vista machine setup in order.
Step 1
Run the Oracle VM VBox program and click the New button below to create a new virtual machine.
When the virtual machine creation window opens, specify the name and version of the VM you are going to install. Then click the Next button to continue.
Step 2
For a virtual machine, it would be sufficient to specify a 2 GB (2048) RAM size. After setting the virtual machine RAM value, click on the Next button.
Step 3
To create a new virtual hard disk for the VM, select Create a virtual hard disk now and click the Create button.
Step 4
As the hard disk file type, select VBox Disk Image (VDI) as recommended by VBox and click on the Next button.
Step 5
For the virtual machine disk performance, it is a good idea to create the hdd size as Fixed. Configure the HDD size as Fixed Size and click the Next button.
Step 6
Also, storing the virtual machine HDD file on an external USB HDD will increase performance. Continue by clicking the Create button to create the HDD size as 25 GB.

After creating the virtual machine for Win Vista, click on the Right Button / Settings on the virtual machine.
Step 9
In the Settings window, click Storage in the left pane, and then click Choose Virtual Optical Disk File to add the Vista ISO file that you downloaded from the Optical Drive.

Select the ISO file for WinVista Ultimate SP2 32-64bit operating system and click the Open button.
Step 11
Close the settings window by clicking on the OK button.
Step 12
Click the Start button to start the virtual machine setup.
Step 13
Press Enter on the Win Vista x64 Setup option on the Windows Boot Manager.
Step 14
Select the operating system language setting, time format, and keyboard layout, then click Next.

Click Install Now to start the installation.

Select the operating system version you want to install and click Next.

To accept the Windows Vista system license agreement, select I accept the license terms and click Next to proceed with the installation.

Continue with Custom (Advanced) in the Installation Types window.

Format the hard disk you created for the virtual machine, and create a new partition. Then click the Next button.

How to Install Guest Additions in Windows Vista
After installing the virtual machine Guest Additions on Oracle VBox, you can use the virtual machine as a full screen and also share files between your computer and the virtual machine.
Follow the steps below to install Guest Additions to Win Vista.
Step 1
To set up Win Vista Guest Additions, click on the Devices menu and then click on Insert Guest Additions CD image…
Step 2
After the Guest Additions CD image is imported, click Run VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe to run the application.
Step 3
In the Oracle VM VBox Guest Additions setup window, click Next button.
Step 4
Leave the location as default and click Next.
Step 5
Click on the Install button to start installing Guest Additions to Win Vista.
